Want to visit the Grand Canyon but find it out of the way?
Start by visiting the Lame Rosse of Fiastra.
The Lame Rosse are a red rock stratification in the Sibillini Mountains.
In fact, climatic agents, through a slow erosion over millions of years, have shaped its shape made up of reddish pinnacles and towers: the fairy chimneys.
This is what we read in an article in the Resto del Carlino of 2008:
"The 'Lame Rosse' of Fiastra have a universal value and possess all the characteristics to become a World Heritage Site. Their beauty is such that they can undoubtedly be identified by UNESCO as an asset that belongs to every man in this world."
At the end of the excursion, a visit and a swim at Lake Fiastra is recommended.
